Kevin Durant On Signing With Wizards: ‘Never Thought About It’

Kevin Durant

Assuming Kevin Durant is to become a free agent after the 2015-16 season, the Washington Wizards plan to lay out the red carpet for the Oklahoma City Thunder star. Though the reigning NBA MVP says he’s never even thought about playing for the Wizards, who for all technical terms would be considered Durant’s hometown team.

“I’ve never thought about it, to be honest,” Durant said. “I mean, I hear it in the summertime. I heard it for the first time this summer. That’s when it started heating up. I love playing for Oklahoma City, man. There’s just a certain level of pride that I have when I play with that Oklahoma City on my chest.”

It’s hard to imagine that Durant hasn’t even thought about it considering just about anybody who watches or plays basketball has envisioned the idea. That said, plenty can happen between then and now thought it appears as if Kevin Durant holds a special place in his heart for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Many times you hear players suggesting playing in your hometown isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be and added stress/pressure is routinely put on you because of it. It’s not known if Durant feels that way, though as of now it doesn’t appear as if KD is overly enamored with the idea of playing for John Wall‘s Washington Wizards.

Maybe Kanye West’s jersey crafting skills could change his mind?
