Remember when Kevin Durant was relatively shy and kept to himself? Those were the days, right? Now the Oklahoma City Thunder star is much more open, especially verbally as he pops off to competition on a near nightly basis.
Such was the case on Sunday evening when Durant, after a nasty slam dunk, began trash talking LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
With OKC trailing James’ Cavs, Kevin Durant stood out on the wing as he was defended by J.R. Smith. Obviously with a clear size and speed advantage, Durant blew by the Cavs defender en route to a powerful slam dunk.
That’s when he made his way back up the court and glared at LeBron James, saying something to him in the process.
There’s never been any public ill-will between Kevin Durant and LeBron James, so this was likely just an in-game emotional reaction from the Oklahoma City Thunder star and reigning NBA MVP. Still, it was a bit interesting to see what could be viewed as a little bit of trash talking.
James himself is known to be a bit of a talker, especially to those who he feels challenged against, so perhaps Durant was simply giving a reaction back from a prior engagement. Either way, nothing wrong with a little beefing between two NBA superstars.
