Kevin Durant Dunks So Hard He Hurt His Elbow (Video)

Kevin Durant

While Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder will never participate in the NBA’s annual slam dunk contest, that’s not because he lacks ability. No, he may not be as flashy as some players but he can certainly throw it down with the best of them.

In fact he dunks with such authority (at times) he hurts himself, much like he did on Monday night against the Miami Heat.

Early in the fourth quarter, Kevin Durant was able to pick off a wayward pass and made his way down the court. It wasn’t a clear breakaway but he did have the advantage as he galloped to the rim. Wanting to make sure nobody would get in his way to block his dunk, Durant powered up and jammed it hard. So hard that he ended up falling down and smacking his elbow.

Thankfully Kevin Durant wasn’t hurt seriously and was able to continue, though, that had to be scary for fans of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Also, did anybody catch Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat at around the :02 mark? It was like a pitcher who tosses a lob up to a batter, he couldn’t help but contain his frustration and panic knowing what was about to happen.
