When it comes to Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins, there’s one thing he does really well and that’s intimidation. There’s nothing against that, of course, but the big man likes to get under the skin of opposing players. At times he’s been known to lose his cool, much like he did on Friday night for headbutting Tyreke Evans.
The decision will now cost him a game and a fine as the Kendrick Perkins headbutt will result in a suspension.
For those that missed the play, the New Orleans Pelicans forward drove to the basket and after the play, Perkins made his way towards the former Memphis Tigers star. The two exchanged words quickly before Perkins thrust his head into Evans’.
It was a clear cheap shot on the part of Perkins, though, we’ve become somewhat accustom to those over the years.
Perkins’ chances to keep unleashing those in an Oklahoma City Thunder uniform might be coming to a close though as he’s repeatedly found his name in trade rumors, most recently being linked in the alleged Brooklyn Nets trade which would have sent Brook Lopez to the Thunder.
That deal appears dead though Perkins’ name will likely be linked to Reggie Jackson as OKC would like to get out of Perk’s deal and bring in a big man that fits their style of play.
