Josh Smith On Pistons Success: We Could’ve Turned It Around

Before cutting ties with Josh Smith, the Detroit Pistons were a woeful 5-23. Since opting to release the veteran, things have been near perfect in Motown as the Pistons have won 9 of 10 games and look to be a completely different team.

Still, Josh Smith doesn’t see himself as a problem as he believes had he remained with the franchise, they could have been sharing the success together.

“I’m excited for them,” Smith said, recently, when asked about the Pistons’ success without him. “We could’ve turned it around, I’m kind of thinking that. I text those guys every day and let them know – the ones I was really close to – of how proud I am of them and to keep up the good work.”

No, Josh Smith, the Detroit Pistons wouldn’t have turned it around with you on their roster. You’re the same guy who said you didn’t care what your field goal percentage was nor where your shots came from.

Thankfully for the Houston Rockets, Josh Smith’s new team, they haven’t experienced much of a hiccup since signing J-Smoove though he probably hasn’t made the type of impact they were hoping for.

The Detroit Pistons are likely to come back to earth in the coming weeks, though it’s clear they’re far better off without Josh Smith.
