Jerry Sloan Asked Karl Malone ‘Are You Going To Wear That C**trag’

Karl Malone

There are two things we know about former legendary Utah Jazz head coach Jerry Sloan.

The man was nothing sort of a genius on the basketball floor and he wasn’t exactly the most warm and fuzzy guy, at least when it came to competition.

But don’t take my word for it.

Read what Ric Bucher (formerly of ESPN, currently of Bleacher Report) recently wrote when discussing Jerry Sloan and a conversation the coach had with Utah Jazz and NBA superstar Karl Malone.

The Mailman, who at the time was injured, decided that he was going to wear a protective sleeve on his arm like many currently basketball players do. But Sloan was having none of that:

When Karl Malone considered wearing a neoprene sleeve on a sprained knee, Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan walked by and said, “You’re not going to wear that c**trag, are you?”

I’m not sure what’s more impressive here – the fact that somebody, outside of Kobe Bryant, actually decided to stand up to Karl Malone and his country gruff or the fact that Jerry Sloan used the term ‘c**trag’.

Actually, I don’t even know if that’s a valid term to use but I’m pretty sure it just made its way to the top of my vocabulary list for the next few months.

Also, blast Karl Malone for the ‘c**trag’ but allowing John Stockon to wear short shorts? Come on, Jerry.

I've written on a lot of your favorite websites while I live in my mother's basement. If you only knew what a hard time I'm having holding these alligators down. Woo. | Twitter: @GuyHut | FB: @GuyHutSports
