Houston Rockets Interested In Brook Lopez Trade

Brook Lopez

If you’re an NBA team with trade interest, please step on up. Houston Rockets, you’re next on the list as they too have joined the pursuit of the Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez, this according to Yahoo Sports.

The Rockets now join a growing list including the Denver Nuggets, Oklahoma City Thunder and Miami Heat who have already been linked to rumors regarding a trade for the big man.

While the Rockets have tried previously to have two starting caliber big men (Dwight Howard and Omer Asik) it didn’t really work out, namely from a financial standpoint. Given that you’d assume it would be somewhat difficult for Houston to acquire Brook Lopez considering he’s due $16 million dollars this season and holds an equally expensive player option for the 2015-16 season.

Perhaps part of the Houston Rockets interest is to elevate the asking price of Brook Lopez considering their rival, the Oklahoma City Thunder were said to have strong interest in acquiring the former Stanford star.

Then again, you never know what Rockets GM Daryl Morey is thinking and perhaps the Houston Rockets are actually interesting in bringing Brook Lopez aboard.
