The Dallas Mavericks, much in part to Mark Cuban, are always on the lookout for talent.
That includes a former #1 overall pick as Greg Oden is set to workout for the Mavs.
Yes, Oden, the former top selection in the 2007 NBA Draft (who went ahead of Kevin Durant) by the Portland Trail Blazers will join a group of other players when they work out for the Mavericks in the near future.
Greg Oden is on NBA comeback trail, visiting Dallas to work out for the Mavericks this week in mini-camp, league sources tell RealGM.

Oden most recently played for the Miami Heat and while he was mildly effective (mildly), he’s essentially a walking injury and probably won’t ever be able to play any type of meaningful minutes in the NBA.
Still, given the low price tag and borderline minutes he’d require, there’s really no harm for the Mavericks to make such a move.
Not exactly Dirk Nowitzki insurance, however.
