Greg Monroe Signs With Milwaukee Bucks Over New York Knicks

Greg Monroe

The New York Knicks had a maximum level contract they were allegedly willing to offer Greg Monroe, formerly of the Detroit Pistons. There weren’t many teams willing to meet such a price, so understandably, the Knicks were considered among the favorites to sign the former Georgetown product.

But apparently, things are so bad for the New York Knicks right now, Greg Monroe decided to leave the Knickerbockers rumored maximum level contract on the table to sign with the, you guessed it, Milwaukee Bucks.

Yep, a free agent, a stud free agent at that, just left the same money available (presumably) and picked a team in Milwaukee over New York.

I’m not sure if anything ever hurts Phil Jackson‘s ego, but that must have dinged it a little bit, right?

While it’s not that shocking to see that Greg Monroe opted to sign elsewhere instead of in the Big Apple, the fact that he picked the Milwaukee Bucks over the New York Knicks is a pretty big decision.

That said, the Bucks are in a much better position from a basketball standpoint than the Knicks who are essentially Carmelo Anthony and Arron Afflalo with a hefty amount of cap space (and very few players to spend it on).
