Golden State Warriors Plan To Keep Draymond Green

Golden State Warriors plan to re-sign Draymond Green.

Before the NBA’s trade deadline passed earlier this week, rumors were afloat suggesting the Detroit Pistons were strongly interested in Motown native Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors.

Simply put, why wouldn’t they be? Green has quickly emerged as a force in the NBA and with his pending restricted free agency coming up, the Pistons will be just one of many teams interested in obtaining his services. Of course, the Golden State Warriors would need to let him walk in free agency for that to happen and it doesn’t sound like that will be the case.

That’s because the Warriors plan to keep Draymond Green by the Bay, this according to Tim Kawakami.

While the Golden State Warriors do have a little bit of an issue with the salary cap thanks to bigger deals for Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry, Draymond Green looks to be part of their core group and losing him would be a hefty blow.

David Lee‘s mega deal will be expiring next season and will likely allow the Warriors to rid themselves of the contract or simply wait it out, thus giving them the financial flexibility to retain Draymond Green.
