When Shaun Livingston got switched up defensively on Dirk Nowitzki, he knew he was going to have a difficult time stopping the Dallas Mavericks icon. So what did he decide to do? Bust out the old turkey tap.
With Dirk backing Livingston down in the post, the lengthy point guard reached around the underside of the power forward and gave him a punch to the groin.
A foul was immediately called and Dirk Nowitzki, clearly unhappy, began to have words with the Golden State Warriors guard.
Nothing happened and Dirk Nowtizki, being the kind guy that he is, accepted Shaun Livingston’s apology. Apparently, he’s a bigger man than I because if somebody did this to me….
…I probably would have busted out my inner-Warren G and Nate Dogg and regulated on the guy.
But Dirk’s all about peace and love, I guess as noted by ESPN.
“Well, I give him the benefit of the doubt because he’s really not that type of player. He hasn’t been his entire career. I’m not really sure what he was trying to do there, if he was trying to get to the ball through my legs or anything. But like I said, he’s not a dirty player. He’s actually a really, really good dude, so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.”
Kind fellow, that Dirk Nowitzki.
