Brooklyn Nets and Detroit Pistons discussing a Joe Johnson trade.
The Brooklyn Nets continue to pretend they aren’t desperate to trade players like Brook Lopez and Joe Johnson, though it seems very obvious that they’re doing everything they can to make a move.
Lopez rumors have been through the roof and now according to Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPNNewYork.com, the Detroit Pistons and Brooklyn Nets have spoken about a Joe Johnson trade.
Hearing Detroit has reached out to Nets to inquire about Joe Johnson according to league sources.

It’s of course a little ironic that the Pistons would want anything to do with one of the NBA’s worst contracts after finally cutting ties with Josh Smith earlier this season, but in fairness Joe Johnson only has one season remaining on his contract though it will pay him nearly $25 million dollars.
Matching Johnson’s mega deal would prove to be somewhat difficult for the Detroit Pistons so you really have to question if the two sides would be able to complete a deal just from a financial standpoint, let alone if it makes on-court sense for the Pistons. Also, while the Nets would likely want some players like Greg Monroe in return, that doesn’t match up well for Detroit.
Either way, the talk seems to jive with everything that’s been leaked about both teams who are trying to make some franchise altering trades.
Update: The Pistons offered Brandon Jennings along with multiple additional players for salary cap purpose in exchange for Johnson to the Nets.
