Denver Nuggets Not Looking To Trade Ty Lawson After Arrest

Ty Lawson

Earlier this week, Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson was arrested on suspicion of DUI which obviously didn’t sit well with the organization. Still, the mistake hasn’t cost Lawson his role on the team as he remains in the franchises plans moving forward despite their disappointment according to the Denver Post.

Lawson spoke to head coach Brian Shaw who then let him speak to his teammates and apologize.

“I talked to him,” Shaw said. “I left him to deal with his teammates on his own, with them.

“For me, it’s no different than your own child doing something. And the same care and concern that you have for your child. Just wanting to talk about responsibility, doing the right thing, learning from mistakes that you make and how it affects not just you but your family and your fans, organization and everybody else around.”

Just about everybody on the Denver Nuggets roster has been rumored to be on the trade block at some point during this season other than Ty Lawson, though speculation was the point guard could join those names after the arrest considering his past history with driving infractions. That doesn’t appear to be the case, at least not currently as Denver appears committed to their All-Star caliber point.
