DeMarcus Cousins rips Sacramento Kings in ‘God’s Plan’ rant.
For years DeMarcus Cousins has dealt with a significant amount of adversity, not to mention pressure as he’s been the face of the Sacramento Kings franchise.
From rumors of fights with teammates to constant relocation rumors, Cousins has dealt with much more than your average superstar and done so in a relatively small market, oddly enough.
But things apparently came to a head on Sunday night when Cousins, after hitting a game winning shot against the Phoenix Suns, suggested that he’s always been loyal to the Kings and Sacramento but wasn’t feeling the mutual love after he was accused of blocking a potential hiring of head coach George Karl.
It’s difficult to blame Cousins, because simply put, he’s correct. He’s routinely dealt with backlash from all angles and the fact he was railroaded into being the scapegoat for the Kings’ head coaching search really wasn’t a smart decision, whomever it came from.
Hopefully for his sake (and the Kings), things will smooth over in the next few days but it’s clear the All-Star big man was not happy over the rumors and he has every right to be upset considering he doesn’t have anything to do with the situation.
