The Sacramento Kings are doing what they can regarding damage control when it comes to the relationship between star talent DeMarcus Cousins and head coach George Karl.
Nobody really knows for sure what went down a few weeks back, but what came out of the DeMarcus Cousins trade rumors (very likely fanned by Karl himself) was that the All-Star and his head coach do not see eye to eye.
In fact, Sacramento Kings president and GM Vlade Divac told Jim Rome the relationship between DeMarcus Cousins and George Karl is ‘not pretty’ currently.
Vlade just said on Rome that the relationship between Karl and Cousins is not pretty right now.

Of course, there’s still plenty of time for the two to get on the same page and it’s believed the Kings made some of their offseason moves (like signing Rajon Rondo) to appease DeMarcus Cousins. Still, you have to assume that if the Kings, who look much better on paper this season, struggle out of the gate the DeMarcus Cousins trade rumors could start blowing again.
So for now, those other NBA teams interested in acquiring the big man will need to temper their expectations as it doesn’t sound like the Kings are interested in any type of move. But who knows what will happen down the road if this situation doesn’t better itself quickly.
