By all accounts, the Sacramento Kings don’t plan to trade DeMarcus Cousins. At least, that’s the story they’re sticking to.
In fairness, it’s not as if they’d come out and say they’re trading their All-Star big man regardless, so teams are still attempting to trade for the former Kentucky star.
That includes the Los Angeles Lakers who are said to be offering pretty much anything on their roster so Kobe Bryant can pair himself up with one of the NBA’s most dominating big men.
But would Cousins be okay with a trade to Southern California? It appears that way as according to Inside So Cal, DeMarcus Cousins wouldn’t be unhappy with a trade to the Lakers.
“DeMarcus would not be unhappy if he got moved to the Lakers,” said a league source familiar with Cousins’ thinking.
Again, it’s rather unlikely that DeMarcus Cousins will be traded to the Lakers, though, it’s obvious to see why he’d be happy to be acquired by one of the league’s best franchises – despite their recent woes.
Though, you’d have to wonder about Cousins overly emotional personality in such a major market, considering he’s struggled with such in Sacramento. Regardless, that’s a risk you have to take if you’re the Lakers.
Sadly for them, it doesn’t sound like they’ll get the opportunity unless the Kings change their minds.
