DeAndre Jordan Is Worst Free Throw Shooter In NBA History

DeAndre Jordan

Many around the Los Angeles Clippers organization wondered why DeAndre Jordan wasn’t named to the NBA’s Western Conference All-Star team this season.

Honestly, they had a pretty good gripe considering Jordan has emerged as the NBA’s best potential defender and changes game with his defensive abilities. Of course, on the offensive end, despite scoring at an effective clip, DeAndre Jordan has proven to be a liability at the free throw line.

We’re not talking just bad – we’re talking historically bad as the Wall Street Journal says DeAndre Jordan is the worst free throw shooter in NBA history for those 26 years old or younger.

Jordan is the worst free-throw shooter in NBA history through his age-26 season, among those who have hoisted at least 1,000 attempts, according to Basketball-Reference.com. Jordan’s career success rate of .422 heading into Wednesday’s play is significantly worse than the next least-effective player from the so-called charity stripe: former Indiana Pacer Dale Davis (.520).

This is a state being closely monitored by fellow basketball teams as the San Antonio Spurs hammered away at Jordan, placing the center on the free throw line 28-times during their game. It was the third highest total for any player in fifteen years.

All isn’t lost for DeAndre Jordan though as the Clippers center can potentially improve his free throw stroke as he ages, but as of right now, he’s officially the worst professional basketball has ever seen.
