If you’re a big Will Ferrell fan, then you probably loved Talladega Nights. And if you’re not a big Will Ferrell fan, well, you probably didn’t.
Chris Paul appears to enjoy the former Saturday Night Live star though as he decided to quote the actor when asked to describe the Los Angeles Clippers season after a crushing and eliminating defeat by the Houston Rockets.
It wasn’t just a Ferrell quote though, it was actually from his Talladega Nights character, race car driver Ricky Bobby:

I’m not sure what to think here. On one hand, this is Chris Paul, the guy who’s known for punching and grabbing the junk of fellow basketball players. But on the other hand, Chris Paul just whipped out a Ricky Bobby quote and I’m pretty sure he said it as if he was channeling his inner-Cliff Paul.
Given that, I’m required to approve of this, right? I mean, CP3 could have given us the typical, boring elimination speech but instead opted to use a Will Ferrell quote. I don’t know – he might have just worked his way back into the good graces of basketball fans.
