For months there have been rumors suggesting that Chicago Bulls stars Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler have beef.
In fact, many believed that the tension between the two basketball players would eventually lead to Butler trying to sign a one-year free agent contract in effort to expedite himself out of the situation. But Basketball Insiders says that’s not the case.
Butler is rumored to be nearing a five-year contract with the Chicago Bulls and he apparently has no issues with Derrick Rose.
Jimmy has no issues with Derrick Rose. I have talked to people all the way around that and they all question where that came from.
What is real about Jimmy is for the first time in his life he is in control, or can be, and that’s what is important. Having the ability to control your future, where you live and play, who you play with and how much you get paid. That’s what all of this is about.
I’m not sure that will put the alleged issues totally to bed, but if Jimmy Butler does re-sign with the Bulls – and does so with a long contract – he either really has no beef with Derrick Rose or simply doesn’t care.
