Chicago Bulls News: Derrick Rose Unhappy With Jimmy Butler?

Derrick Rose

Man, the Chicago Bulls sure do love their drama.

There’s the rift between coach Thibodeau and GM Gar Forman and now it’s apparently made its way to the floor. Even worse? The two best players on the Chicago Bulls roster are beefing. That’s the word from CBS Chicago who says Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler are unhappy with each other.

Butler of course emerged onto the scene this season as an All-Star and seemingly took over the number one option spot with Rose constantly dealing with injury woes. That didn’t sit well with DRose and now the two are said to have some issues.

Sources describe a passive-aggressive reaction from Rose that was the culmination of tensions building in recent weeks with Butler’s emergence as a primary scorer. Butler is very aware that he won his bet on himself and is poised to reap the reward of a maximum contract from the Bulls, whether or not it takes an offer sheet from another club in restricted free agency this summer. Butler’s emergence was validated by the NBA’s Most Improved Player Award, and he’s now feeling every bit the star, with all that entails.

Of course, troubles between teammates isn’t anything new and more often than not they go away, especially when a team is winning. Though given Jimmy Butler’s potential free agent status, you have to wonder what type of impact this could make, assuming it to be true.
