When Derrick Rose went down with another injury earlier this week, the assumption was that the former NBA MVP would likely be done for the season. However the Chicago Bulls say that’s not the case as general manager Gar Forman believes Derrick Rose will be back on the court in 4-6 weeks.
Even better? Despite tearing his meniscus, it’s the belief of Forman that Derrick Rose will be back to basketball activities in a week.
Forman: “Rose return to play in the next 4-6 weeks depending on rehab.”

Forman: Rose will be able to start loading up and doing basketball activities in a week

Forman: “Fairly common procedure done with NBA players, usually able to come back to full strength.”

While we don’t know what type of operation Rose underwent to repair the meniscus, there are two well known procedures to fix such. One usually involves more recovery time but prevents further injury while the other can speed up the recovery process but puts the player at further risk down the road.
Whatever the case, hopefully this is the last time we see Derrick Rose have a knee injury and the All-Star can remain on the court moving forward.
