The Cavs are favorites to sign Kendrick Perkins over the Bulls and Clippers.
On Friday news emerged suggesting the Cleveland Cavaliers were one of the favorites to sign former Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins. They were just one of a handful of teams in the mix however as both the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Clippers were also said to be suitors for the big man.
However it appears as if LeBron James‘ Cavaliers have emerged as the frontrunner to sign Kendrick Perkins, this according to Yahoo Sports.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have emerged as the strong frontrunners to sign center Kendrick Perkins, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Perkins and the Utah Jazz are proceeding on a contract buyout that could be completed as soon as Saturday, sources said.
Perkins was of course traded to the Utah Jazz just minutes before the NBA trade deadline was to pass and has since been working on a buyout with the club.
The Clippers were deemed a long shot to sign Perkins considering he’d be dealing with playing time issues considering DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin handle the majority of center and power forward minutes.
Taj Gibson, Joakim Noah and Pau Gasol all do the same for the Chicago Bulls, so it’s understandable as to why Kendrick Perkins prefers the Cavs considering they have the fewest hurdles to playing time.
