Carmelo Anthony Supports Cavs In NBA Finals

Carmelo Anthony

Alongside LeBron James on the Cleveland Cavaliers are multiple New York Knicks castoffs including Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith.

The latter of which has already thrown shade at his former basketball franchise, though, is seemingly keeping in contact with Carmelo Anthony who has been texting his support to both Shumpert and Smith.

That’s the word from the two Cavs players who says Melo, despite sitting at home, is very supportive of his former teammates and is wishing them and the Cavaliers the best in the NBA Finals against Stephen Curry‘s Golden State Warriors.

“I heard from him, he’s excited for us,” Smith said. “I talked to him for awhile. I can’t say everything he said. I’d probably get fined. It was a great conversation.”

“Melo’s texted us throughout the playoffs,” Shumpert added. “He’s always a supporter. I can always lean on him if I have any questions about the game. He’s a huge basketball guy, always watching, always trying to learn from us, and we’re always going to take advice from him.”

They haven’t stated what exactly Carmelo Anthony has said, though, I’m guessing it might be something along the lines of “hey, ask LeBron if he can get me traded to the Cavs.”
