Carmelo Anthony Thinks Knicks Offseason Has Sucked

Carmelo Anthony

The New York Knicks had grand intentions when NBA free agency started, but they, like many other teams have been left in the dust by a select few who’ve seemingly attracted all the major interest from key free agents.

Granted, the Knicks did sign Arron Afflalo to a rather solid deal on Thursday morning, but so far the Knicks moves (or lack of) have left Carmelo Anthony rather disappointed.

“I’m waiting for my phone to go off right now so I can hear some good news, but it’s a waiting game,” Anthony told MSG’s Tina Cervasio at the Red Bulls game. “You see guys are signing up early right now and I think this free agency will be done in a short time.”

Whom exactly Carmelo Anthony is hoping the New York Knicks sign is unknown, though, it sounds very doubtful that an All-Star caliber player like Marc Gasol or LaMarcus Aldridge will be making their way to the Big Apple anytime soon.

There are still solid pieces available on the NBA free agent market, of course, but the few elite caliber players whom the Knicks originally had their eyes on look to be interested in playing elsewhere, which probably isn’t sitting well with Melo.
