Brooklyn Nets Sign Thomas Robinson

Thomas Robinson

Just hours after officially being released from his contract with the Denver Nuggets, the Brooklyn Nets have signed forward Thomas Robinson.

Robinson, who was traded by the Portland Trail Blazers to the Nuggets and then bought out by Denver, was drawing interest from a handful of teams. However, it appears as if he feels his best shot for success was with the Brooklyn Nets as he’ll be able to get some decent minutes as opposed to some of the other teams interested in his services where he’d have played a deep bench role.

A former top-five pick by the Sacramento Kings, Thomas Robinson looked to have the makings of a star NBA power forward as he thrived for the Kansas Jayhawks. Equipped with a huge heart and powerful game, many believed Robinson’s size shortcomings would be overcome by his desires though so far that hasn’t worked out.

The former Kansas Jayhawks talent has shown flashes of what made him a lottery pick but it seems as if he’ll continue to be a bench player unless he can put all of his attributes together.

Either way, for a small deal, there’s little risk involved for the Brooklyn Nets who have to be content with the move.
