Barring something odd, it appears as if Brook Lopez will be changing zip codes once the NBA’s upcoming trade deadline passes.
The Brooklyn Nets have been hitting the phones hard in effort to trade their talented, though oft-injured big man and both the Denver Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder have been discussing potential trade scenarios with the Nets.
However, for now, it appears any deal between the Nuggets and Nets is dead considering Yahoo Sports reports the two sides haven’t spoken about the trade in at least a week.
Just an FYI: Denver and Brooklyn haven’t spoken in a week on a Brook Lopez deal, league sources tell Yahoo.

Any deal involving Lopez going to the Nuggets would likely sent JaVale McGee along with draft picks to the Brooklyn Nets, though that’s not exactly a big haul. There have been rumors suggesting Brooklyn would like to acquire Kenneth Faried, but that is seemingly too high of an asking price.
The fact that multiple teams have interest in Brook Lopez seems to suggest the Nets may attempt to wait until the final days/hours before the deadline hits in effort to create a bidding war. It’s a bit risky, but it’s likely the Nets can find a deal equal to the current Nuggets offer even if they have to pull off a last second deal.
