Boston Celtics To Have Quiet NBA Trade Deadline?

Boston Celtics

It’s been a relatively active few weeks for the Boston Celtics after they finally decided to part ways with Rajon Rondo. There are still a few pieces left they’d like to rid themselves of, namely Tayshaun Prince, but the next month could be relatively quiet for those in Beantown.

That’s the feeling of Yannis Koutroupis who expects the Boston Celtics to have a relatively quiet trade deadline.

Sure, there are some teams that would like to add Prince if they could do it outright as a free agent, but giving up a pick, which the Celtics would likely ask for, is a completely different story. I don’t see anything too big going down, and they’re not the only team willing to help facilitate either. After a very busy first couple of months of the season, I think Ainge is going to be primarily quiet around the deadline.

With few veteran’s on the roster, there isn’t much the Celtics can really do since they’ve already acquired a significant amount of youth (Marcus Smart, etc) and have plenty of draft picks. There are some small deals which could be had, perhaps a Marcus Thornton type deal in hopes of acquiring yet another asset but for the most part it seems like it will be a quiet few weeks for the Boston Celtics.
