Anthony Davis Pissed At Warriors For Trash Talk

Anthony Davis

Sure, the Golden State Warriors are probably the best team in the NBA this season. But great as they’ve been, you probably don’t want to anger one of the best players in the league.

That’s what they’ve done though, at least according to New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis who was none too pleased with how the Warriors acted in their loss on Tuesday night.

According to Davis, an unnamed player was trash talking for much of the night and suggested the Pelicans were nothing more than a scrimmage team.

“They came out and said it was going to be a scrimmage game,” Davis said of the Warriors in a TV interview after the game. “We kind of took that personal.”

In the locker room, Davis would not publicly elaborate on who the Warriors player was.

Per ESPN, the trash talking occurred near the New Orleans Pelicans bench though oddly enough nobody seems to know who exactly the offender was. Pretty safe to assume it wasn’t a star like Stephen Curry or Klay Thompson though.

Of course, there’s nothing wrong with trash talking but you need to back it up or it just looks silly. Granted, it’s nothing more than a non-impactful loss for the Warriors which does little for their playoff outlook, but it seems as if Anthony Davis and company have reason to put a target on their back now.
