Amare Stoudemire Wants To Sign With Knicks, Suns Or Mavs

Amare Stoudemire

If you listen closely, you can hear horrified screams in the background of this post.

That’s a collection of New York Knicks fans reacting to the news of Amare Stoudemire wanting to play for the New York Knicks yet again.

One of the biggest contractual busts in NBA history, Amar’e Stoudemire‘s tenure as a Knicks player ended last season when he agreed to a buyout and eventually joined the Dallas Mavericks. Now in addition to the Mavs, Stoudemire is open to playing for either of his former franchises – the Phoenix Suns or the Knicks.

In fairness to Amare, assuming he was to sign with the Knicks, the expectations would be low and nobody would expect more than 10 to 15 minutes a night off the bench. Still, Amare Stoudemire’s tenure with the New York Knicks was nothing short of a nightmare for basketball fans in the Big Apple so I’m guessing the vast majority would prefer for “STAT” to re-sign with the Mavs or enjoy the heat with the Phoenix Suns.

For what it’s worth, there’s been no confirmed interest on the part of the Knicks, who are looking to bring in big name talent with their available cap space to put around Carmelo Anthony.

Greg Monroe, of the Detroit Pistons, is among the favorites to sign with the Knicks.
