Amare Stoudemire Wants To Sign With Suns?

Amare Stoudemire

While Amar’e Stoudemire will finish out the remainder of the 2014-15 season with the Dallas Mavericks, the former NBA All-Star will be a free agent at season end. Perhaps he’d be open to re-signing with the Mavericks but Howard Beck of Bleacher Report hears Amare Stoudemire would be more than open to a reunion in the Valley of the Sun.

Stoudemire of course experienced the best years of his basketball career with the Phoenix Suns and there were reports the Suns were interested in Amare after he was bought out by the New York Knicks.

Now it’s possible the two could rekindle their former flame come the offseason.

Stoudemire joined the Dallas Mavericks last week after being waived by the Knicks, but he’ll be a free agent again in July, and sources say he would welcome a return to Phoenix, where he spent his first eight seasons. Stoudemire loves the city, and his creaky knees could benefit from a reunion with the Suns’ renowned medical staff.

Beck does go on to admit that he’s unsure if the Suns would be willing to offer Amare Stoudemire a contract, though the big man has proven himself to be effective (at least from an offensive standpoint) for short bursts off the bench.
