Amare Stoudemire Could Sign With Suns, Magic

Amare Stoudemire

When Amare Stoudemire’s contract expires with the New York Knicks, he’ll probably have played his final game in the Big Apple – at least as a player on the home team – as the Knicks probably want zero memory of the failure that was STAT.

But just because the Knicks will likely want to move on doesn’t mean Amar’e Stoudemire will be void of places to play as Marc Berman of the New York Post believes it’s possible the big man could return to the Phoenix Suns, where he enjoyed the best years of his career or possibly even sigh with the Orlando Magic.

A return to Phoenix is quite possible. Orlando could have interest, as he is a native son. When the Knicks are there next week, he will hold an event in his hometown of Lake Wales, Fla., refurbishing basketball courts.

Stoudemire is of course no longer the player he once was, though can be effective in limited action off the bench. Given that, he’d likely need to take an extremely small salary to join a new club, but if he wants to continue his NBA career it’s something he’ll need to consider.

It remains to be seen if the interest will be mutual on the part of the Suns and Magic, though you could certainly do worse for an offensively minded big man off the pine.
