Yasiel Puig Nearly Fought Dodgers Pitcher Zack Greinke

Yasiel Puig

Apparently, Yasiel Puig isn’t just irritating the baseball team on the other side of the field but his own Los Angeles Dodgers teammates.

That’s the word from Bleacher Report who says that the eccentric outfielder has been upsetting the Dodgers players and at one point during the 2014 season, nearly fought with pitcher Zack Greinke.

In 2014, during the Dodgers’ annual trip to Chicago, the team bus stopped downtown to allow rookies undergoing hazing to walk into a pizza place and emerge with food for the veterans. Some Dodgers players, not wanting to wait, skipped off the bus. When the bus was ready to leave, Puig was outside, looking for his luggage inside of the bay underneath the bus. After Puig ignored multiple requests to close the luggage bay, Greinke hopped off the bus, grabbed the suitcase in front of Puig and chucked it onto Michigan Avenue. Puig stepped toward Greinke and was restrained by reliever J.P. Howell.

Yasiel Puig has already come out on more than one occasion and suggested that learning the customs in America has proven to be a bit difficult as the translation from Cuba hasn’t exactly been the easiest.

Still, the last thing you need if the Dodgers is your young, budding star having issues with teammates, especially those as talented as Zack Greinke. And a physical fight? Yikes.

Hopefully for the Dodgers, all is fixed up now. Or at least Joc Pederson and Clayton Kershaw stay far away.
