Yasiel Puig Called ‘Dumb’ By San Francisco Giants Announcer

Yasiel Puig

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig has been called a lot of things by a lot of people since his MLB debut, though “dumb” might be a new one.

However, that’s exactly what San Francisco Giants analyst Mike Krukow called the MVP talent after Puig suggested it was the St. Louis Cardinals, not the San Francisco Giants who were the Los Angeles Dodgers’ biggest rivals.

“He’s just young. He’s just young and dumb and he’s gonna say some stuff,” said Krukow, as noted by CSN Bay Area. “As a group, I doubt if they are gonna be talking about it openly but they are gonna be thinking about it. They don’t miss stuff like that … if there was any way to refocus a whole group with a World Series hangover, this is it. Thank you, Yasiel Puig.”

In the most odd of ways, perhaps both Yasiel Puig and Mike Krukow are both correct.

There’s no denying the rivalry between the Dodgers and Giants. It’s one of the best and most long tenured in all sports, not only baseball.

On the flip side, given the recent playoff matchups between the Cardinals and Dodgers, they have the most recent “history” in games that matter as San Francisco and Los Angeles spend their time battling for a division crown.

Simply put, the Cardinals are the Dodgers’ most recent nemesis while the Giants are LA’s true rival.
