Texas Rangers To Trade For Yovani Gallardo Of Milwaukee Brewers

The Texas Rangers are preparing to add a big name to their starting pitching rotation as according to Ken Rosenthal, Yovani Gallardo of the Milwaukee Brewers is on the verge of being traded to the Rangers.

Gallardo, who not that long ago was considered to be one of the best pitchers in the National League has struggled recently, though still brings with him a significant amount of talent. Given that, it’s understandable as to why the Texas Rangers would be willing to take a chance on the Milwaukee Brewers’ ace.

It’s currently not known what type of return the Rangers would be sending in the proposed deal, though Gallardo is a Texas native and likely would be more than willing to re-sign with the Rangers once his contract expires.

He is owed $13 million dollars this season before becoming a free agent.

Many believed he wouldn’t re-sign with the Brewers once his contract came to an end, so it appears Milwaukee’s front office is trying to strike while they can.

We’ll update the deal as soon as it becomes official but for now, it appears the two sides are still talking (despite the deal being near completion).
