Texas Rangers Not Interested In Josh Hamilton Trade

Josh Hamilton

After a nightmarish start to his career, outfielder Josh Hamilton not only experienced a resurgence with the Texas Rangers – he became an MVP candidate. That lead to Hamilton signing with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim where he’s dealt with adversity and injury, making him a shell of the player we once knew.

Some believed a return to the Texas Rangers would again revitalize Josh Hamilton’s struggles and rumors about a potential trade surfaced in December. Those alleged talks never went anywhere, probably because the Rangers weren’t interested in re-acquiring the outfielder and still aren’t according to Jon Daniels.

In December, Fox Sports reported that the Rangers were one of the teams that had “exploratory” talks with the Angels about trading for Josh Hamilton. Daniels quickly shot down the rumor and did so again on Saturday — much to the delight of the crowd.

When Daniels mentioned the idea of Hamilton playing for the Rangers again as “small”, the crowd reportedly erupted in cheers.

Clearly Josh Hamilton’s departure from the Texas Rangers was not a good one and fans still harbor resentment to the veteran who seemingly chose money over comfort and role.

From franchise superstar to one of the most hated men in Texas sports.
