Seattle Mariners Rumors: Robinson Cano Seeking Trade?

Robinson Cano

It hasn’t even been two  years since Robinson Cano signed a record-breaking contract with the Seattle Mariners, but it appears the infielder is already growing tired of his surroundings.

At least, that’s the view of radio host Michael Kay who suggested Cano is unhappy with how things have played out.

Per Bronx Pinstripes:

It appears the honeymoon phase between Robinson Cano and the Seattle Mariners may be wearing off. Sources, including Michael Kay on his radio show on Monday, are speculating that Cano, just a year and a few months into his mega contract with the M’s, is unhappy in Seattle.

The reasoning as to why Robinson Cano is unhappy with the Seattle Mariners? Apparently a lack of Dominican natives in the area, frustration with the over-the-top travel schedule the Mariners have (Seattle routinely has the most miles traveled given their location) and alleged irritation with supposedly being used by Jay Z during his contract negotiations.

You’d probably wonder what that has to do with Cano allegedly being unhappy with the Mariners, but perhaps he was hoping to sign elsewhere and couldn’t get the money Seattle was offering?

Either way, it does seem a little out of left field so it’s difficult to tell if the Seattle Mariners rumors about Robinson Cano being unhappy are truly legit.

Granted, things aren’t going great for Seattle this season but as long as you have Felix Rodriguez atop your rotation and you’re coming off an 87-win campaign, you can’t be that unhappy, can you?
