Russell Wilson To Join Texas Rangers For Spring Training Again

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson probably can’t wait to get back on the field after throwing a Super Bowl losing interception, but he has six months before NFL training camp begins.

That could be part of the reason he has decided to rejoin the Texas Rangers for Spring Training yet again, following the same path he took last year when Wilson participated with the Rangers.

Some within the organization (like manager Ron Washington) weren’t exactly thrilled with the Seahawks quarterback taking part in their spring, but Wilson, who was picked up by Texas in the Rule-5 Draft from the Colorado Rockies loves baseball and seemingly wants to participate as long as they’ll have him.

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, a two-time NFL Pro Bowler who has led his team to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances, will reportedly again spend time with the Rangers at Spring Training this year.

The news was first reported by the Boston Globe and then confirmed by FOX Sports Southwest. The Rangers have not commented on Wilson’s possible return to Spring Training.

Wilson won’t do anything deemed “dangerous” and will likely limit himself to taking ground balls and taking batting practice in the cage, though you still can’t help but wonder what the Seattle Seahawks front office truly thinks of the decision.

The chance of Russell Wilson getting seriously injured is extremely small, but if there was a freak ACL tear or something? Yikes.
