We’re just days into Spring Training and teams are already losing All-Star talent. The San Francisco Giants lost outfielder Hunter Pence to a broken forearm and now it’s the Texas Rangers who have likely lost star pitcher Yu Darvish for the foreseeable future.
Darvish had to leave his Thursday start just moments after he took the mound and now the Texas Rangers ace has been diagnosed with a sprained UCL.
While no timetable has been given regarding a potential return as of yet, Tommy John surgery is said to be on the table.

Darvish: “I will be disappointed if I have to miss the season but want to look at all options, including getting a second opinion…”

Every year we see a couple of high profile players go down in the early parts of spring and this season appears to be no different. Unfortunately for the Texas Rangers, this appears to be something that could cost Yu Darvish his season.
Hopefully a second opinion will provide the possibility of only missing a portion of the year, but things don’t look good at the moment.
