We already know all about the Philadelphia Philllies trade talks surrounding Cole Hamels, but what about fellow starter Cliff Lee? Could he be on his way out too?
Lee brings with him a hefty contract, but if the Phillies are willing to pay a portion of his deal, it’s possible he could be changing zip codes. In fact, he could do soon as spring training according to Jayson Stark of ESPN.

Considering pitchers and catchers are set to report for most clubs in the coming days, that’s pretty quick. As to why would have interest in a Cliff Lee trade, that remains to be seen and will likely depend on how much of Lee’s salary is picked up by the Phillies.
We’ve seen Philadelphia already balk at putting up money to rid themselves of Hamels and Jonathan Papelbon, though they may be more willing to do so with Lee considering his age and injury concerns.
Either way, it certainly sounds as if the Phillies are highly considering a Cliff Lee trade.
