Pablo Sandoval: San Francisco Giants Did Not Love Me

Pablo Sandoval

Another day, another chance for Boston Red Sox third baseman Pablo Sandoval to slam the San Francisco Giants.

The former World Series MVP, who won three rings with the Giants, has routinely blasted his former franchise in the press and is back at it again, this time suggesting the Giants had no love for the man so many called ‘Panda’.

Unlike previous quotes, Sandoval didn’t take a shot at his former teammates, but suggested the baseball operations portion of the Giants front office didn’t love him as they should have.

“Being a homegrown player, for them not to demonstrate the love for me to come back there, I think that says a lot,” Sandoval said. “I’m not going to play someplace where I was happy with my teammates but I was personally unhappy with them (management).”

While he might have a point, it’s not as if Pablo Sandoval was lighting things up on the baseball diamond either. Keep in mind, this was the same guy who was benched for Juan Uribe during the Giants’ 2010 World Series run and routinely spent time on the DL with injuries. Granted, they were freak in nature, but the point remains.

Add in the continued weight battles and his desire for a $100 million dollar contract, it’s understandable as to why the Giants were a little hesitant to commit to Sandoval before free agency.

Of course, general manager Brian Sabean and company ended up offering Pablo Sandoval more money to stay in the Bay, but it appeared as if the bridge was burned long before on Sandoval’s part.

I've written on a lot of your favorite websites while I live in my mother's basement. If you only knew what a hard time I'm having holding these alligators down. Woo. | Twitter: @GuyHut | FB: @GuyHutSports
