Pablo Sandoval Frustrating Boston Red Sox Fans?

Pablo Sandoval

When the Boston Red Sox signed Pablo Sandoval this offseason, there were multitudes of San Francisco Giants fans who suggested there would be some buyers remorse.

A rather streaky player, Sandoval is in the midst of one of his struggles and the Red Sox themselves are among the worst teams in baseball, at least from a record standpoint. Now it appears as if Pablo Sandoval, who isn’t one to dismiss his personal glory, is angering both media and fans in Boston.

After his 1,000th hit and career double 200, Sandoval celebrated on the field which apparently didn’t sit well with everybody watching.

Setting aside the notion that one’s 200th career double is not exactly the same as say, career hit No. 3,000 or home run No. 400 — Sandoval is entitled to his own milestones — the act left a sour taste for many.

Here were the Red Sox, about to drop their seventh game in a row, down by four runs, and Sandoval seemed fixated on collecting an in-game souvenir for a personal achievement.

There’s really not much wrong with what Pablo Sandoval did, though, given the context of the Boston Red Sox’s struggles and the fact that Sandoval hasn’t exactly lived up to his contract thus far, it appears the once happy marriage is quickly having some rather rocky moments.
