Pablo Sandoval: I Didn’t Let Giants Make Final Offer

Pablo Sandoval

For years, even through his struggles, Pablo Sandoval was a fan favorite for the San Francisco Giants. Now he might be treated like a Los Angeles Dodgers player next time he returns to AT&T Park as he continues to have a case of foot in mouth disease.

Previously suggesting that he simply wanted a new “challenge”, Pablo Sandoval says he didn’t even allow the San Francisco Giants to make a final offer before he signed with the Boston Red Sox this offseason.

“I left more money out there,” Sandoval told MLB Network Radio on Tuesday. “I didn’t let the Giants make the final offer. I just wanted to get out and try new things, try a new challenge. I just want to be a part of a new challenge.”

The Giants quickly came out and suggested they had an offer on the table equal to that of the Red Sox’s and were willing to even increase the offer, though Sandoval seemingly couldn’t say no to friend and mentor David Ortiz who recruited The Panda to Beantown.

Perhaps Sandoval was still harboring some resentment from the continued issues regarding his weight, though whatever the case it appears there was a little bit of animosity on both sides.

I've written on a lot of your favorite websites while I live in my mother's basement. If you only knew what a hard time I'm having holding these alligators down. Woo. | Twitter: @GuyHut | FB: @GuyHutSports
