MLB Rumors: Dodgers Seeking Trade For Big Name Pitcher

The Los Angeles Dodgers may be sitting pretty atop the National League West, but with the San Francisco Giants right behind and the San Diego Padres not much further, they are seeking reinforcements.

We’re not talking a tiny trade or anything either, as according to ESPN, the Dodgers have a short list of big name pitchers they’re looking to acquire.

That is said to include Jordan Zimmermann of the Washington Nationals, David Price of the Detroit Tigers and Johnny Cueto of the Cincinnati Reds.

Not long ago, the Los Angeles Dodgers sent out a memo to their scouts telling them to keep an eye on a long list of potential starting pitcher targets leading up to next month’s trade deadline.

At the top of the Dodgers’ wish list, according to a source, is hard-throwing Washington Nationals right-hander Jordan Zimmermann, with Cincinnati Reds ace Johnny Cueto and Detroit Tigers lefty David Price also on the short list of desirable targets.

All of the above mentioned names have been said to be possibly available at some point, so it shouldn’t be all that shocking to hear them linked to a potential trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers who are trying to form a three-headed monster behind Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke.
