The Milwaukee Brewers have spent a good portion of the offseason thinking about re-signing closer Francisco Rodriguez, though it appears they may have competition. That’s because the Miami Marlins are interested in Francisco Rodriguez, this according to Joe Frisaro.
While no deal is said to be ‘imminent’ per Frisaro, the Marlins do apparently have relatively serious interest in the man known as ‘K-Rod’ and could revisit talks with the closer if he remains unsigned.
Nothing is imminent, but #Marlins have touched base w/ Scott Boras about K-Rod. Club may revisit.

If the Miami Marlins are to sign Francisco Rodriguez, they’ll probably want to hop aboard that train relatively quickly as every day that passes without a Jonathan Papelbon trade seems to suggest a return to the Milwaukee Brewers is more and more likely for K-Rod.
The veteran closer was nothing short of lights out to begin last season, dominating opponents through the first half of the season. After the All-Star break however, Francisco Rodriguez appeared to lose some gas and was not nearly as effective before eventually turning things around in the final few weeks of the year.
Considering his relatively cheap price tag, teams could certainly do worse.
