Marcus Stroman Out For Toronto Blue Jays Season With Torn ACL

Marcus Stroman

Just when you thought things were looking up for the Toronto Blue Jays, who had a solid offseason with additions like Russell Martin, news hits stating that ace pitcher Marcus Stroman will miss the entire 2015 season with a torn ACL.

The devastating blow was announced by the Blue Jays on Tuesday afternoon, stating that Marcus Stroman tore his left ACL during fielding practice for pitchers.

One of the best young arms in the game, Stroman was likely to anchor the Blue Jays staff (along with other talent like R.A. Dickey) and while he may not have lead the team in wins or ERA this season, the last thing you ever want to see is any player suffer such an awful injury, let alone one with the promise of Marcus Stroman.

The injury will likely force the Toronto Blue Jays to make some changes to their pitching staff as they’re not exactly deep at starter (nor reliever, in all honesty) so it should be interesting to see what the team decides to do in regards to a corresponding move.

Stroman is expected to be healthy and completely recovered come the 2016 season.
