Report: Josh Hamilton Had Alleged Cocaine Drug Relapse

Josh Hamilton

Los Angeles Angels star Josh Hamilton has went above and beyond in his attempt clean up his life and remain sober, but according to CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman, the outfielder who formerly starred with the Texas Rangers has had a drug relapse.

Earlier in the afternoon word leaked that Hamilton was in New York meeting with MLB officials about “disciplinary” issues. Nobody knew what exactly those disciplinary issues were for however, though the Angles did confirm that the slugger was indeed in the Big Apple speaking at the MLB offices.

Now Heyman reports that Josh Hamilton had an alleged cocaine relapse about a month ago and informed Major League Baseball about such. As a first time offender, he would be placed in treatment program.

Just awful news all around. You can’t but wonder how much the death of the Texas Rangers fan impacted Hamilton, who passed away after falling to his death when he attempted to catch an autographed ball for his son a few years back.

Hopefully if the report is indeed true and Josh Hamilton did have a drug relapse, he’ll get his life back in order and not fall off the wagon again.
