Felix Hernandez’s Son Has A Cannon Of An Arm (Video)

Seattle Mariners Safeco Field

On Sunday, the Seattle Mariners invited a handful of children to throw out the first pitch. One of those happened to be the son of All-Star pitcher Felix Hernandez and it’s safe to say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Or in this case, the cannon of an arm doesn’t fall far from the…well, cannon of an arm.

While the other kids threw soft tosses to the catcher, Felix Hernandez’s son emulated his father and unleashed one furry of a pitch. This of course was after a mild windup, which left the Mariners player catching the ceremonial first pitch in awe (and apparently in some pain).

Goodness.

I’m not sure how old Felix Hernandez’s son is, but he doesn’t look much older than 10 and his fastball is already got more life on it than 75 percent of those in MLB.

Just a guess, but I’m thinking the Seattle Mariners (and the rest of baseball) are doing what they can to get a contract prepared and ready when Felix Hernandez’s son becomes eligible to sign in a few years.

I've written on a lot of your favorite websites while I live in my mother's basement. If you only knew what a hard time I'm having holding these alligators down. Woo. | Twitter: @GuyHut | FB: @GuyHutSports
