While Chipper Jones was a very good baseball player for the Atlanta Braves (and can be rather kind and personable online), he’s also an idiot who has a severe case of food-in-mouth disease.
Few athletes (current or former) have garnered the type of backlash incurred by Jones, and of those who have, very little have done so because of pure stupidity and ignorance. Yet, that’s where the once-proud slugger leaves us today and it’s clear that Chipper Jones is an idiot. Or at the least, had an idiot moment.
Why is Chipper Jones an idiot, you ask? Let’s just say he believes (or believed) that the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newton, Connecticut was fake. Yep, a massacre which killed innocent children and teachers was not real.
Jones since deleted the moronic tweet and went on to apologize for his comment.

My first question is this – who would even think to joke about something like that? Second, why would Chipper Jones even think something like that was fake? Even if he did, don’t you research a mass causality before suggesting it wasn’t legit?
I can’t help but shake my head.
