The connection between the Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs has become headline making news yet again as Theo Epstein has hired two former All-Star players to join him in the Windy City.
According to Carie Muskat, the Chicago Cubs have hired Manny Ramirez as their hitting consultant and Kevin Youkilis as a Scouting and Player Development consultant. Both of course played under Epstein when he was with the Red Sox organization and bring with them quite the resume.
As for the moves, you can’t help but spin this as a positive for the Cubs.

While Manny Ramirez has proven himself to be a bit of a knucklehead over the years, there’s no denying the man knows what he’s doing in the batters box. Given that, so many of the Cubs young offensive talents like Anthony Rizzo, Javier Baez, Jorge Soler and more should all benefit Manny Ramirez. They’ll also stand to learn a lot from Youk as well as he was no slouch when healthy either.
All in all, another solid move from the Cubs in which has proven to be a string of such in recent months.
