Blue Jays, A’s In Talks With Dayan Viciedo

Dayan Viciedo

There’s no denying that Dayan Viciedo was a disappointment for the Chicago White Sox, though there’s a reason for that. The outfielder had a very good 2012 season and followed that up with a decent 2013 season which was marred with some injuries and a lack of playing time.

So when he was released by the White Sox, many were a bit shocked at the move. Still, the Cuban native is drawing heavy interest on the open market and the Toronto Blue Jays and Oakland A’s are two teams said to be in talks with Dayan Viciedo.

While Viciedo isn’t a superstar by any stretch this is a guy who is a year removed from hitting .265 and clubbing 14 home runs in 124 games. That’s not exactly impressive, though the lure of potential remains and it’s understandable as to why so many teams are interested in the slugger considering his price tag will be relatively affordable.

It’s not known who else Dayan Viciedo is speaking to at the moment, though it’s doubtful the Blue Jays and A’s are the only teams trying to sign the outfielder.

Expect him to have a new home in a matter of days.
